Client Campground Booking

Acquired. A design partnership that carried a bootstrapped startup to acquisition by Good Sam.

The Challenge:

Campground Booking, founded by a trio of co-founders specializing in technology, sales/strategy, and design, hit a roadblock when their design co-founder departed early in their journey.

As the company grew and approached acquisition, the need for sophisticated product design intensified, requiring a more structured and professional approach to their design processes.

The Solution:

Quarry stepped in as Campground Booking’s fractional design co-founder, providing on-demand design leadership and support. We focused on mission-critical projects, most notably a comprehensive Point of Sale (POS) system for campgrounds.

This system seamlessly integrated with their booking software, handling both reservations and point-of-sale transactions for physical goods.

We developed a robust, tailwind-based POS system that significantly enhanced functionality and user experience for campground operators. We also improved various user flows within the main Campground Booking software, contributing to a more efficient and user-friendly platform.

Our involvement evolved with the company’s needs, from early-stage design support to more complex product development as they approached acquisition.

The Results:

Quarry’s design support played a crucial role in Campground Booking’s growth, helping them evolve from a bootstrapped startup to an attractive acquisition target. We successfully prepared the company for acquisition by Good Sam, ensuring a smooth transition and reducing the need for outsourced design post-acquisition. Our partnership with Campground Booking also opened doors to new opportunities, including projects with Camping World.
